Faithful Fish Room: 2-1/2 to 3 year olds

Room Coordinator: Jennie Akers
Assistants:
Katie Butera and Angela Schultz

Welcome to the Faithful Fish Room!

We are happy to be starting the 2011/2012 school year with you! My name is Jennie Akers and I will be your child's teacher this year. This will be my sixth year teaching at Mom's Day Out. My husband and I sent both of our children to MDO and love the program. Assisting me this year will be Katie Butera and Angela Schultz. Together, we are excited to tell your child about Jesus and all the wonderful teaching of the Bible! We also prepare our class for their future educational career by starting with the basics: ABCs, 123s, colors and shapes. We even introduce sight words, phonics and Spanish! In the Fish room, we play plenty of games, sing lots of songs and have a ton of fun! We are confident that this curriculum will help each child grow in God, gain confidence and make new friends. Most of all, we want your child to know that they are loved by Jesus Christ!

Looking forward to a wonderful year,

Teacher Jennie, Katie & Angela

Our daily schedule will usually go as listed; however, 2½-year-old children require flexibility. Extra time may be needed to allow for potty breaks, diaper changes, special programs and extra hugs.

Items to send with your child each day include:

*A change of clothes in a large Ziploc bag (to be placed in your child’s cubby).

*1 diaper (to be placed in basket on front counter).

*A lunch with easy-to-eat food and drink.

*Please make sure to label ALL of your child’s items, even diapers, drink cups and non-disposable lunch containers.

*Please let us know if your child is potty training so that we can help in their effort.

A few children may have some separation anxiety, this is very normal especially in the first weeks of MDO. We find the best way to calm a child is for mom or dad to say a quick good-bye and let your child know that you will be back after lunch to pick them up. Most children cry for mom and dad’s benefit and calm down minutes after your departure. Be assured that if your child cannot be calmed, we will notify you.
