Ministry Description:
John and Joy began
SonWorks Ministry in 1999 soon after they had completed 32 years
on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. God has called them to
continue to work with people in a shepherding ministry, being
available to people of all ages and walks of life. Their goal in
life is to know Christ, the power of His resurrection and the
fellowship of His suffering. This goal drives what they feel is
significant in working in the trenches. John ministers by being
chaplain for Butte College sports teams, working with prisoners
in three separate prisons, helping the homeless, coming along
side young pastors as they plant churches, mentoring Christian
men in various stages of their walks and being dad to kids
without parents.
Joy speaks to
women's groups, high school youth groups and college students.
She teaches Bible studies to various ages, disciples and
counsels people of all ages, oversees the SonWorks annual
women's retreat and mentors young leaders in Campus Crusade,
Young Life, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
