Ministry Description:
After seeing the plight of
the forgotten children in Romania on a short-term
mission trip, Jim and Jodi Sorrels founded H2H, an
organization which focuses specifically on the
orphans. Since 1994, H2H has grown to over 20 full-time
missionaries that minister daily to abandoned
children. H2H does extensive ministry in state-operated
orphanages throughout Romania and to abandoned babies at
a Bucharest hospital. Each year, through hundreds of
volunteers, H2H provides food, clothing, and education
materials to the orphanages. They also give the children
the much needed influence of Christian role models,
mentors, and friends. H2H also runs two Transition Homes
that house 10-12 older orphan boys and girls each
year. The Transition Program helps teens attain jobs and
housing as well as develop spiritually through
connections with the local Romanian church. Jim and Jodi
travel between Romania and their home in Southern
California several times a year. When not in Romania
managing staff and running short term teams, the Sorrels
maintain the home office, speak to churches and groups,
and recruit additional team members. They have two grown
children, Anna and John Thomas. Anna and her husband
Austin are actively involved in H2H International,
helping at the home office and also leading teams in
Romania. John Thomas is also involved in various
projects for H2H.
