Ministry Description:
Joe is the team
leader of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's Graduate Student
and Faculty Ministries for the State of Indiana. Joe’s calling
is to reach graduate students and faculty with the good news of
Jesus Christ, to see them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and
to see them develop a Christian world and life view that begins
to “think Christianly” about their field of study, their
research, teaching, and expertise. This is integration of faith
with learning as opposed to many Christians in academe living in
two different worlds, the world of faith and the world of
education. We strive to transform the university by transforming
those who lecture there. Joe ministers with graduate student
groups, MBA, Law, and Performing Arts professional students at
Purdue and at Indiana University. Fifty percent of all graduate
students in the two main public universities in Indiana are
international students. They have a weekly Bible study for
graduate students in their home and also do graduate student
contextualized conferences, evangelism and worldview training.
